Internationally acclaimed operatic soprano, warm, compassionate and inspirational speaker and thriver of a breast cancer diagnosis at age 34, Ms. Manzi's presentations are not to be missed. She moves others to thriving wellbeing in the face of cancer and crisis, she motivates persons of all ages and backgrounds to persevere in the face of all obstacles, she lends her wit, warmth and wisdom to provide presentations that never fail to rouse and move her audiences. Carol Ann Manzi is a must see and hear, as she offers her meltingly sweet renditions of uplifting songs as a part of all of her speeches.
In 2006, Miss Manzi offers her voice both as speaker and soloist for the National Cure Magazine Conference in Dallas Texas in May, American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Southern California, American Cancer Society's Celebration on the Hill in Washington, D.C. in fall, Blue Veins Women's Welfare and Relief Organization in Peshawar, Pakistan and in concert halls in Vienna, Saltzburg, and the Czech Republic. Her key-note speeches are heard at International Komen, ACS, Rotarian, and other conferences.
The Yale graduate has received numerous honors and awards for her singing worldwide. She most recently appeared at New York's Lincoln Center, The Tanglewood and Banff Festivals, The Sarasota Opera, Opera Carolina, Greensboro Opera, Opera Santa Barbara, Eugene Opera, Connecticut Opera and numerous concert halls around the country. Manzi had the distinct honor of being guest soloist at the World Conference on Breast Cancer in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Manzi is a Reach to Recovery volunteer for the American Cancer Society, a pastoral care hospital visitor, a Regional Coordinator for the Young Survival Coalition and a partner in the Blue Veins Women's Welfare and Relief Organization in Pakistan. She has offered numerous concerts and recitals to benefit a variety of cancer and civic causes. She regularly provides assistance toward the feeding of the homeless and displaced, and visits and entertains the elderly and infirmed.
Manzi provides exciting presentations to musicians and corporations in addition to her cancer work, in an effort to motivate persons to new heights of dedication and perseverance. She offers highly practical advice to assist others in staying the course.
Manzi's comforting, motivational and uplifting brand of speaking has revved up thousands of race walkers before Race for the Cure, Making Strides and Relay for Life. She has helped raise thousands of dollars from corporate sponsors for such events and moved audiences of patients, nurses and physicians to tears of hope and courage. Both her speaking and her singing have been described as expressive, vibrant, moving and full of warmth.
Manzi earned her Master of Music degree from the Yale University School of Music, her Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Connecticut State University with majors in languages and theatre and has won prizes, awards and scholarships worldwide for her academic and performance excellence.
